Martine Grael, the first Brazilian female to compete on The Volvo Ocean Race

Martine Grael

Martine born in Brazil on 21 February 1991. She is a sailor and took gold in her home Olympic Games in Rio. Her father, Torben Gael, is the Olympic gold medalist in sailing as well.

On 22 October 2017, Martine became the first Brazilian female to compete in one of the most important sailing’s toughest team challenge, the Volvo Ocean Race, it’s a round-the-clock pursuit of competitive edge and the ultimate ocean marathon.

Martine took the podium along with her AkzoNobel team to complete the Volvo competition in 2018.
