Laura Zamora

She was born in Baja California, Mexico. She studied a career as a laboratory technician and got a job for Bodegas Santo Tomas in Ensenada, starting her successful career, climbing different positions until she became the first Mexican woman to be a winery owner winemaker.

In 2015 she began her studies in Gastronomy at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). That same year she also traveled to Argentina where she took a course with the famous winemaker Miguel Angel Daruich.

Among the great wines that Laura has created we can mention: Mission 1888, a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, and Tempranillo. And the Duetto label is another of her great creations. Her creations have been awarded in international competitions

Since 2007, Laura has taught at the Ensenada School of Enology and Gastronomy. And she currently runs Casa Zamora “a winery where, in addition to making wine, I want to offer practical winemaking workshops with my students” says Laura.
